I’m Sarah Crockett, a proud Wytheville native. Growing up on the Crockett Family Farm—established in 1948 and still operating today—instilled in me a deep-rooted pride in this community. I attended Spiller Elementary, Scott Memorial Middle School, and George Wythe High School, where I served as FFA president, played softball, and marched in the band. Later, I earned my nursing degree from Wytheville Community College. Today, I still call Wytheville home, raising my family in the town that shaped me.
While I’m proud of my education and professional accomplishments, nothing compares to the pride I feel in being a mom. More than anything, I hope my children see me living a full and purposeful life—one that empowers them to pursue their own dreams.
That’s part of why I’m running for the Board of Supervisors. I want to help ensure our community remains vibrant, safe, and supportive—a place where all children and families can thrive.
My parents have long been active in local government and community service. Watching them give back taught me the importance of civic engagement. When I saw that East Wytheville had only one candidate for the Board of Supervisors, I realized this was my opportunity to step up and give our district a choice.
I bring to the table honesty, fairness, and a calm, reasonable voice. I know this community, and this community knows me. I’m ready to serve and to share my leadership skills for the benefit of us all.
There’s so much to love about East Wytheville, from its rich history and scenic beauty to its walkable downtown, unique venues, and vibrant festivals. It’s my favorite place to be, and I want to help preserve and enhance everything that makes it special.
As a Board member, I’ll support the great things already happening here while remaining open to new ideas. I want to hear from you—your priorities, your concerns—and make sure your voice is heard.
As a parent of school-aged children, I’m especially focused on issues that affect their education, health, safety, and extracurricular opportunities. I’m also a strong advocate for outdoor spaces and activities—like extended sidewalks and greenways—that promote wellness and bring people together.
